January 20-29 - A 20-member delegation of student ambassadors from Yeongdong (aged 11-15 years) visit Alameda to see first hand, and take part in American-style education with the help of student ambassadors from the Academy of Alameda.

January 29 - Philippine medical mission to Dumaguete. Organized by the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California, in collaboration with ASCA. Five days of 170 medical volunteers serving approximately 9,000 low income Dumaguete area residents.
February 16 - Varazze, Wadi Foquin and Yeongdong committees approved by ASCA Board.
June 3 - Annual Alameda Philippine Independence Day Celebration at City Hall.
June 20 - City Council approves Yeongdong as an official Sister City.
July 2 - Yeongdong delegation in Alameda to sign MOA. They and other sister city committees to participate in the July 4th parade and festivities.
July 12-16 - SCI Youth Leadership Summit and 61st annual Sister Cities International Conference in Virginia Beach VA.
August 6-12 - ASCA families host Korean players here for the World Baseball Tournament.
August 20 - Annual Union City Sister City Festival.
August 21 - ASCA recipient of $1,000 award for AT&T Investing in California at recognition ceremony at the Elihu Harris State Building, Oakland.
September 17 - Greater Shanghai Association celebrates 9th Anniversary of the Alameda-Jiangyin Sister City relationship during the Middle Autumn Festivities in San Leandro.
September 21-24 - Mayor’s Delegation attending the Yeongdong 50th Annual Music Festival; itinerary to include official visit to Jiangyin.
October 17 - City Council approves resolution defining the guidelines that the City and ASCA will follow in administering Sister City relationships.
October 25 - Wuxi Mayor visits Alameda.
December 5 - City Council considers Wadi Foquin Sister City approval.
